To reduce burden, NCERT deducted 3 chapters from class 9th syllabus

As a part of the curriculum rationalisation exercise launched at HRD Minister Prakash Javadekar’s direction to reduce burden on students, the NCERT has deleted 3 chapters from the history syllabus of class 9th. Out of 3, one is based on caste conflict through the fights of the ‘lower caste’ Nadar women of Travancore, who were forced to keep their upper bodies revealed. The other 2 chapters were based on clothing & sports.
