According to a study conducted by researchers from the United States, tree populations and plant diversity face long-term risk from noise pollution. Researchers studied tree populations in New Mexico that were exposed to a high level of artificial noise for 15 years to reach the conclusion. Researchers found that there were 75 percent fewer pinyon pine seedlings in noisy sites in Mexico than quiet ones.
