Two Uighur former officials sentenced to death in China for “separatist activities”

Continuing its crackdown against the Uighur minorities, China has sentenced two Uighur former government officials to death for undertaking “separatist activities” in the Xinjiang region. The two officials who have been sentenced to death include Shirzat Bawudun, a former chief of the Xinjiang department of justice. Bawudun is accused of conspiring with a terrorist organisation and carrying out separatist activities.
