Despite continuous demand by some politicians to intervene in the ongoing farmers' protest in India, the UK government has maintained that the protests are India's internal matter. "The UK govt will continue to follow the farmers' protest closely, respecting agricultural reform is a domestic policy issue for India," House of Commons leader Jacob Rees-Mogg said while hailing India as a "very proud democracy."
