UK scientists trying to establish connection between Chimpanzee lip-smacking and human speech
According to a group of UK scientists Human speech has evolved from Chimpanzee “lip smacking”. The study has used video recordings collected from Edinburgh zoo in Scotland and Leipzig zoo in Germany. The Chimpanzee lip-smacking is similar to the open and shutting of the mouth, that is the key requisite of any spoken language. The research said that humans have underestimated the cognitive capacities of the Apes.
