UK study suggests severe COVID-19 infection is rare in newborn babies

According to a UK-based study funded by the National Institute for Health Research, newborn babies are less likely to have severe Covid19 infections. As per the study, 45 percent of the babies who developed severe infection were from Black, Asian or minority ethnic groups. Only 17 babies, out of the 66 newborns contracted the Covid19 disease from their mothers. None of the newborns died after contracting the disease.
