The unemployment rate in India declined by 0.2% to 6.9% in September 2021, the lowest since the outbreak of the Covid-19 pandemic in the country. The unemployment rate in the country has been declining constantly for the past 4 months, with employment returning to the February 2020 level in September. The employment rate increased by 0.8 percent in September with 157,000 new jobs being created in the month.
