UNESCO adds ancient Thai Massage to its heritage list

The ancient skill of Thai massage was added to UNESCO's prestigious heritage list on Thursday. The massage technique originated in India and is widely practiced in Thailand. It includes the body-folding, sharp-elbowed techniques of Thai massage. The massage technique was added to UNESCO's list of "Intangible Cultural Heritage". Popularly known as Nuad Thai, the massage came into popularity in the 1960s.
