United Kingdom-based drug manufacturer AstraZeneca has "voluntarily paused" a randomized clinical trial of its coronavirus vaccine after a volunteer encountered an unexplained illness. The firm said that it was a routine action that has to happen whenever there is a potentially unexplained illness. Now, an independent committee will review the safety data before the work of vaccine development resumes.
