A unique purple-pink diamond that was mined in Russia, was auctioned for a record price of $26.6 million in Switzerland. The 14.8-carat jewel has been named "The Spirit of the Rose". It was named after a ballet performed by the Ballets Russes and its legendary dancer Vaslav Nijinsky in 1911. As per the reports, the buyer is a telephone bidder who chose to remain anonymous. The gem's expected price was $23 million-$38 million.
