Greenland is a big island full of ice & usually, ice melting season is from June to August, with bulk melting in July. But an unusual thing that happened was about 2 billion tons of ice melted yesterday, that is 40% of Greenland's ice. This sudden spike in melting is unexpected, and this much melting in summer could be a bad sign, indicating 2019 could once again set records for the amount of Greenland ice loss.
