US govt's arm OPIC shows interest in investing in Indian late-stage startups

Overseas Private Investment Corp. is an arm of the US’ govt. that is keen on investing in Indian last-stage startups. The executive VP of the firm has said that it is interested in late-stage firms, which means in the Series B, C, and D as it doesn’t want to take technology risk in early-stage venture capital. At present, OPIC has a portfolio of $3.5 bn investment in private equity and it commits between $5 mn and $25 mn.
