US Navy carrier groups conducted joint exercises in South China Sea

A joint exercise was conducted by two US carrier groups in the South China Sea. The exercise came days after a US warship sailed near Chinese-controlled islands in the region. The two groups that "conducted a multitude of exercises aimed at increasing interoperability between assets as well as command and control capabilities" were the Theodore Roosevelt Carrier Strike Group and the Nimitz Carrier Strike Group.
