According to a study, the reason behind the increased beachings of whales in the Pacific could be US Navy's use of Sonar. Beaching is a technical term that means whales coming out of the ocean water, getting stuck on beaches and dying eventually. The effect of Sonar has been mostly seen in Northern Marina Islands in the western Pacific Ocean. These islands witness the regular presence of US Navy ships.
