US to provide $144 million in financial assistance to Afghanistan

The Joe Biden-led US administration has announced financial assistance worth $144 million for Afghanistan. The announcement was made by Secretary of State Tony Blinken. "This funding provides support directly to some of the more than 18 million vulnerable Afghans in need in the region, including Afghan refugees in neighbouring countries," Blinken said. The assistance will be extended through independent organisations and NGOs.
