The US military has highlighted the need for US warships to be "more assertive" against international law violations by China including its expansionist actions in the South China Sea. "Our globally deployed naval forces interact with Chinese and Russian warships and aircraft daily," a document by Pentagon read. Rear Admiral Jay Bynum said the US Navy would shift to "more responsive, more assertive" behaviour.
