US welcomes the efforts to disengage by Indian, Chinese troops

A day after Defence Minister Rajnath Singh told the parliament that Indian and Chinese troops are going to disengage in the North and South banks of Pangong lake in eastern Ladakh, the US has welcomed the move. "We're closely following reports of initial troop disengagement. We welcome the ongoing efforts to de-escalate the situation," State Department spokesperson said while adding that US will continue to monitor the situation.
