US-based Moderna to supply 40 million doses of Covid-19 vaccine to Japan

United States-based biotech company Moderna has signed an agreement to supply 40 million doses of its potential Covid-19 vaccine to Japan. Moderna's vaccine mRNA-1273 will be distributed by Takeda Pharmaceutical Co Ltd in Japan. The delivery of the vaccine candidate will begin in the first half of 2021 after receiving regulatory approval. The deal was announced by the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare of Japan.
