On Tuesday, after the whole world celebrated the Pride movement, the High Court of Botswana scraped a colonial-era law criminalizing same-sex relations in a landmark victory for Africa's LGBTQ community. This has come after Kenya's high court upheld its laws criminalizing homosexuality. The issue was raised by a 21-year-old student in the court who argued that society has changed and homosexuality is accepted globally.
