Violent mob lynches 23-year-old to death for stealing cellphones from shop

A 23-year-old man was lynched by a mob in Tamil Nadu’s Thanjavur after he was caught red-handed while he was allegedly trying to steal cellphones from a shop. The man identified as R Haja Mohideen of Isaiyakkadu village succumbed to his injuries on November 9. Haja went to a shop with two others but the two ran away after they saw some Kasangadu residents coming towards them. However, Haja couldn't run as he was drunk.
