The Supreme Court, while hearing to the petitions on Police action against the protestors in Jamia Millia Islamia University said it would not refer to newspapers to arrive on any conclusion. "We are not going to read newspapers. We are not going to rely on newspapers to arrive at judicial decisions," a bench headed by Chief Justice S A Bobde told senior advocate Colin Gonsalves, who was appearing for the petitioners.
