Kutub Uddin Barbhuiya had fixed the marriage of his daughter with Dilwar Hussain Laskar but cancelled it at the last moment as he failed to produce his Citizenship documents. Kutub's daughter eloped with Dilwar. The family has lodged an FIR and said that they would accept the marriage only when he will prove that he is an Indian. The family doubted that the groom was a Bangladeshi and is an illegal immigrant residing in Assam.
