A pair of Sir Winston Churchill's velvet slippers got sold for nearly 40,000 pounds after getting under the hammer at an auction. Churchill's slippers went under the hammer for the first time in two decades. The slippers were embroidered with the initials WSC using gold thread and date back to the 1950s. A private UK collector became the new owner of the wartime leader's slippers after paying a whopping 39,040 pounds.
