World Bank: India tops the list of highest remittance in 2018 with $79 billion

India retains its position as world's top recipient of remittances with $79 billion followed by China ($67 billion), Mexico ($36 billion), the Philippines($34 billion) & Egypt ($29 billion). Over the past 3 years, India had significant growth in the flow of remittances. Remittances grew by 14 % in India & 12 % in South Asia; whereas global remittances reached up to $689 billion in 2018 from $633 billion in 2017.
