The shortest amount of time ever recorded has been discovered by scientists. The unit is called zeptosecond and represents one trillionth of a billionth of a second. Using the measurement, physicists from Goethe University Frankfurt recorded the time taken by a photon to cross a hydrogen molecule. The time came was 247 zeptoseconds. A hydrogen molecule was irradiated using X-rays from a Petra III laser for the calculation.
