17 villages of Punjab's border district Ferozepur were flooded after Pakistan opened headworks gates in its area on the Sutlej river, where several villages are already inundated because of the recent rains and breaches in embankments of the river. A statement was released where the water released by leather tanneries into the river contained pollutants. Pakistan had also accused India of releasing 200000 cusecs of water in the Sutlej.
