2.7 lakh paramilitary, 20 lakh state police deployed for LS polls 2019

Over 2.7 lakh paramilitary personnel along with over 20 lakh state police personnel & home guards are on the job for ensuring smooth conduct of the 7-phase LS polls. The home ministry said this was the highest deployment ever in India. The total sanctioned strength of India's state police forces is around 21 lakh & paramilitary is around 10 lakh. As the phases are over, paramilitary troops are moved from 1 state to the other.
