There are seven villages in Uttarakhand's Byas valley where 400 families depend on China for their rations including rice, wheat, salt and cooking oil. China send the food items via Nepal as the state government ration quota does not suffice to their needs, according to the villagers. They said they feel like orphans in their own country where repeated appeal for extra ration from the govt has been rejected time and again.
