Akali Dal pulls back from Delhi elections over disagreement on CAA, NRC with BJP

After losing strong allies like Shivsena in Maharashtra, Bhartiya Janta Party may be inching towards losing another strong ally, Akali Dal, over the disagreement between the two parties over CAA, NRC. Shiromani Akali Dal will also not contest in upcoming Delhi Elections. A party member said, "while we welcomed CAA, we never pitched for anyone to be excluded" and that "excluding someone on the basis of religion was wrong".
