Amid tensions with China, Taiwan appoints new representative to India
Strengthening its stance against China and trying to garner the world's support, Taiwan has appointed senior diplomat Baushuan Ger as its new representative to India. Ger's predecessor Tien Chung-Kwang has been promoted to the post of deputy foreign minister. Ger's appointment as the ambassador to India was announced on Thursday. Tien held the position for over 7 years in India. Ger is likely to take charge in September.
