Ajay Dubey, an RTI applicant in Madhya Pradesh has been asked to pay GST for getting information from the MP housing and infrastructure development department. The board then asked him to pay GST and CGST for that. Dubey has said that providing information is not a service as it is for being transparent which is the duty of the public authorities. For 18 pages of documents, he's been charged Rs 7.
