Arvind Panagriya has resigned as vice-chairman of NITI Aayog. In the next phase, he will return to Columbia University in the US as professor of economics. Till 31 August, he will serve at NITI, when he will end his two-an-a-half-year stint at the body that replaced the Planning Commission. Since he was appointed as NITI Aayog vice chairman on January 5, 2015, he had been on leave from Columbia.
