After attorney-general Christian Porter got emotional while denying rape allegations while accusing the news broadcasters of running a media trial, Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison extended his support to Porter. The woman who named Porter committed suicide last year after withdrawing her complaint. "The rule of law is essential for liberal democracies, and we weaken it at our great peril," Morrison said.
