Beijing lodges protest as US warships sail through Taiwan Strait

Tensions between expansionist China and United States once again started to rise as two US warships sailed through the sensitive Taiwan Strait triggering a protest from Beijing. The transit by US warships comes two weeks after a Chinese aircraft carrier group sailed through the strait. As per the US Navy, guided-missile destroyers USS John S. McCain and USS Curtis Wilbur had “conducted a routine Taiwan Strait transit December 31."
