Big win for India as UN finally endorses its bid for Non-permanent seat at UNSC

It came as a victory for India after the Asia-Pacific group at the UN endorsed India's candidature for a non-permanent seat at the powerful UN Security Council for a 2-year term. The elections for the 5 non-permanent members of the 15-nation Council for the 2021-22 term will be held in June 2020. The good news to India was announced by Syed Akbaruddin, India's Permanent Representative to the UN.
