In a major setback for the BJP government, actor and BJP leader from Assam, Jatin Bora has resigned from the party and a huge protest broke out in Assam on the following day of the passing of the Citizenship Amendment Bill in 2019. However, Bora refused to reveal the reason behind his resignation, but the violent protest against the BJP in several parts of Assam are sufficient to speak for themselves.
