Ahead of the Lok Sabha elections, all the political parties are busy carrying out rallies to gather votes. The Bhartiya Janta Party is also conducting rallies, and for PM Modi's Kolkata rally today, the party spent Rs 53 lakh just to hire 4 trains to ferry his supporters from Jhargram, Lalgola, Purulia, and Rampurhat. A railway official said trains were booked as per the guidelines of EC.
