BJP's alliance party expels Manipur Deputy Chief Minister

National People's Party, a partner of the BJP-led government in Manipur, has expelled the state's Deputy Chief Minister Yumnam Joykumar Singh from the primary membership of the party for six years. According to the party, Singh was expelled "on the recommendation of the Disciplinary Committee (of the party) for six years under the constitution of the party". The party's state president Thangminlien Kipgen was expelled last month.
