The political situation in Maharashtra has reached to a deadlock with the BJP and Shivsena alliance failing to reach an agreement. Amid all the chaos, BJPs Sudhir Mungatiwar on Friday declared that Maharashtra may head for President's rule if the new government in the state is not in place by November 7. Shivsena compared Mungatiwar's "threat" statement to Mughal diktat and called it "unconstitutional" and "against democracy".
