Canada slams Hong Kong for disqualification of opposition lawmakers

A day after the disqualification of the opposition lawmakers in Hong Kong following which, the entire opposition resigned, Canadian Foreign Minister Francois-Philippe Champagne slammed the decision of the government. Champagne termed the decision as an assault on Hong Kong’s high degree of freedoms under the Sino-British Joint Declaration. Democratic Party lawmaker Wu Chi-wai called the government's resolution "ridiculous".
