Canada to grant refuge to Hong Kong pro-democracy activists

Amid the growing differences between Beijing and Ottawa, Canada has opened its doors for pro-democracy activists in Hong Kong who have fled the Chinese-controlled city to prevent themselves from police action. Canada has already granted refuge to a couple, both in their early 30s. They have been allowed to enter Canada as "Convention refugees". The couple was actively involved in pro-democracy protests in Hong Kong.
