Centre asks states- Not to issue challan, first verify vehicle details through app

The road transport ministry asks state governments to not issue challan to vehicles or drivers directly before verifying the details of driving licence, registration certificate and PUC using an e-challan app in case the driver fails to produce the original or digital copy of such documents. It also reiterated that the enforcement agencies must accept documents stored in Digilocker of the app as valid.
