Centre trying to identify people responsible for leaking unemployment data

The Minister of State for Planning and Statistics Rao Inderjit Singh admitted in the Rajya Sabha that data on unemployment figures had been leaked before the official announcement in May and efforts were being made to identify the people who were responsible for it. A study was allegedly kept buried by the govt found unemployment at a 45-year high of 6.1% in 2017/18, the year after the demonetisation.
