Amid growing tensions with China, Taiwan has pulled out its trump card move and has invited Dalai Lama to Taiwan to propagate Buddhist teachings, in an apparent attempt to irk the Communist Party. “We will, in accordance with the principle of mutual respect and at a time of convenience for both sides, welcome the Dalai Lama to come to Taiwan again to propagate Buddhist teachings,” Taiwan foreign ministry spokesperson Joanne Ou said.
