After trying hard to convince Congress chief Rahul Gandhi to be the speaker of the party at the Lok Sabha, he said a no and announced senior lawmaker Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury's name as the speaker. After a meeting between Rahul and UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi today, a letter has been sent to the Lok Sabha, mentioning Chowdhury's name as the speaker of the party and represent it at all necessary selection committees.
