Ex-Malaysian PM Najib Razak was charged with abuse of power for his role in the 1MDB scandal, involving millions of dollars spent around the world from a government fund. Mr Najib was arrested from his personal residence and he had to plead not guilty following that. However, he’s been proven guilty and the charges carry a maximum 20 years in prison. 6 other countries have opened an investigation into the 1MDB scandal.
