Expressing views different from government opinion can not be called seditious: Supreme Court

The Supreme Court of India while dismissing a petition against Jammu and Kashmir MP Farooq Abdullah said, "expression of views which are dissent and different from government opinion cannot be termed as seditious." The top court also fined the petitioner named Rs. 50,000 while ruling that the petitioner failed to substantiate his allegation that Farooq Abdullah had sought the help of China and Pakistan against India on Article 370.
