Farooq Abdullah's detention period extended by 3 months

The detention period of Farooq Abdullah, the former Chief Minister of the erstwhile state of Jammu and Kashmir, has been extended by 3 months. Abdullah would continue to remain at his residence that has been declared a sub-jail. The detention period was extended under the Public Safety Act (PSA). The National Conference chairman has been booked under the 'public order' provision of the Public Safety Act.
