First emergency presidential alert test to be conducted by FEMA
In a first nationwide test of presidential alert test, the Federal Emergency Management Agency will send out a message to every phone on more than 100 carriers in the US. The message will read "THIS IS A TEST of the National Wireless Emergency Alert System. No action is needed" and will be sent out at 2.18pm ET on Thursday. The presidential alert test will be used in case of national emergency to address the nation.
