Addressing the concerns over a 67% rise in suicides among teenagers between 2010 and 2017, UK Prime Minister Theresa May has appointed current health minister Jackie Doyle-Price as the world's first Minister for Suicide Prevention. May also pledged £1.8 million to keep the Samaritans' helpline free for the next four years to ensure that people seek help for their mental health and to end the stigma surrounding it.
